Brenda
Phipps, D.V.M.. Dr. Phipps began university in Halifax, Nova
Scotia where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree with Distinction
at Mount Saint Vincent University in 1985 then enrolled as member
of the first graduating class at the Atlantic Veterinary College
at UPEI. She graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1990
and began private practice in Western Canada shortly thereafter.
After
5 years of working in general small animal practice Dr. Phipps'
fondness and interest in cats continued to grow. She saw the growing
demand for veterinary clinics who recognize and cater to their unique
needs and in 1995 founded the Willow Park Feline Clinic in Calgary,
Alberta.
'It has been a tremendously rewarding experience to really concentrate
on one area of veterinary medicine, cats are so unique in their
behavior and physiology both in health and in illness. Focusing
on one species has really helped me to refine my professional skills
and provide the best possible care for my patients.'
Elizabeth
Ruelle, DVM.. A native Calgarian, Dr. Ruelles academic
career began with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University
of Calgary. Combining her love of travel and her determination to
be a veterinarian, Dr. Ruelle studied at the University of Veterinary
Medicine , in Kosice, Slovakia. She graduated, with great distinction,
in 2005 as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
After
returning home to Calgary, Dr. Ruelle spent three years practicing
at one of Calgarys few cat-only clinics. Her desire to face
new challenges, while continuing to care for her feline friends,
has led Dr. Ruelle to Calgarys Willow Park Feline Clinic.
There
is great value in pursuing specialization as it allows one to both
develop professional skills and follow one's passions at work. I
am thankful for the opportunities I have found along my academic
and professional path; they have shown me that feline medicine is
the purrfect place to be! I look forward to serving the clients
and patients at the Willow Park Feline Clinic for years to come.
